had a wonderful time at gara rock! room was super spacious n comfy, with an amazin view of the sea. i loved the extra touches like fresh milk for tea n bath salts. also, the spa area was so peaceful, especially since it was quiet in october. staff were really friendly too!
i had a couple of complaints tho, like the breakfast service was a bit slow and my room could use a little more cleaning attention.

Request a quiet area at the spa for a more tranquil experience away from noisy families.

Gorgeous getaway!
Spacious junior suite with a private balcony and stunning sea views. The spa was fantastic with a sauna, steam room, and outdoor pool. All the food we had was not only tasty but beautifully presented. Staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. A perfect spot to relax!

The veggie and vegan offerings at Gara Rock were delightful—think fresh local produce transformed into mouth-watering dishes. Plus, the rooms were absolutely stunning with beautiful decor and spacious layouts, making for a cozy stay by the sea.
But a cheeky bit of critique, the dining prices felt a smidgen steep for the quality, and the lack of communication left me scratching my head. That outdoor pool closure in September? A bit of a bummer.

Gara Rock's location blew me away. Stunning sea views from my room kept me smiling every morning. The double room felt super spacious and comfy. I loved the little extras, like fresh milk for tea and relaxing bath salts. The spa area was a highlight. it felt peaceful and quiet during my October visit. Staff genuinely cared and made everything feel special, especially when I mentioned my proposal plans. They upgraded my room at no extra cost and helped set everything up perfectly. The only downside was that the bar service got a bit slow, especially when the hotel got busier, making it hard to get a drink. Couldn't have a cocktail while in the spa area either, which felt like a missed opportunity. But the food was delicious, and the overall experience was fantastic. Truly a great getaway.

Had such a relaxing stay! The highlight was the amazing sea view from my room 🌊. The only downside was the balcony furniture, a bit worn out. Would definitely return for the beautiful beach access!

Breathtaking sea views from the balcony that are hard to beat, making for a perfect spot for morning coffee. The ambiance comes alive at sunset, providing an excellent backdrop for relaxation.
The balcony furniture really shows its age—rusty metal and flaky paint makes it less inviting. the steam room also caught me off-guard since I expected that to be available. For a small hotel, a gym would definitely up the experience, as the pool is quite short, making a workout tricky. Lastly, navigating the chaotic light switches in the suite felt more frustrating than necessary.

amazing views and close to stunning coastal walks
I had a wonderful stay with spectacular views high up on the coast and it was an ideal base for walking the stunning Salcombe to Gara Rock path, making my explorations truly memorable. The room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing weekend escape, but the breakfast could've been better since the scrambled eggs were quite runny.

I had the entire indoor pool to myself for a relaxing swim.

While the ocean views were breathtaking, the dining experience fell short with overcooked meals and inattentive service, ultimately leaving us frustrated after eagerly anticipating a relaxing getaway.

The incredible sea views from our room were breathtaking! Unfortunately, service was notably slow, and breakfast options were quite limited, which detracted from the overall experience.
